TEIKEI Olive brings olive oil from small-scale farms in Greece to the people who enjoy it—in Germany, Switzerland, and recently also in Scandinavia. Our goal is to create supply chains that have a future. To achieve this, we work on equal terms and apply the ten principles of Community Supported Agriculture (known in Japanese as TEIKEI) to trade across Europe.
The first olives for TEIKEI Olive oil were harvested in 2014 in the Kap Akritas nature reserve, a remote peninsula in the Peloponnese where small-scale farms cultivate them sustainably. TEIKEI Olive supports the farmers in cultivation, oil quality, and social and economic matters. Because the relationships are long-term and aligned with the needs of the farms and the people, they create planning security: the community ensures the purchase and fair financing of the harvest.
Once a year, the harvest is collected, and the high-quality oil is transported directly from the farm to Germany, Switzerland, and the north by truck. The network is growing into a structure where rail and sailboats can take over transport—the ship as a connecting element of this international community.
Members and participants receive high-quality, freshly bottled TEIKEI olive oil: traded transparently, produced sustainably, and delivered right to their doorstep. Yet it is about more than just oil. TEIKEI Olive is a path toward a fair, community-supported system of cultivation, distribution, and solidarity-based economics—together with the farmers and everyone who enjoys the oil.
For cost reasons, TEIKEI is no longer certified organic itself but makes the farms' organic certificates accessible (more details under [Organic Certification in the TEIKEI Network](/en/home/3_FAQ/Produkte_Qualität/Biozertifizierung/Grundsätzliches)). What sustains TEIKEI Olive is something else: trust, direct relationships with the farms, and traceable work in the olive groves. Currently, there is no organic label on the bottle.
