Food, security and a revolution from below
This workshop is meant for reading and further thinking. It was prepared for the Monetary Diversity Gathering 2 in Brussels (October 2026), for the exchange with economics. There are special situations in which it matters to draw attention to a currency that is available to everyone, locally and immediately – everywhere and entirely without a bank: relationship. Whether people protesting, innovations that want to improve the world, or people meeting as at the Monetary Diversity Gathering: strengthening relationships with the people and structures that contribute to a secure life is probably the most important thing to do today.
Time levels: The energy of our time is how it is. The ten TEIKEI principles have been tested for decades. The local systems and the revolution from below are how it could be – an invitation, not a description.
How do we use the momentum of our time so that people channel their energy into relationships that carry a secure life – and the mechanical worldview can become history?
An alternative currency that just has a different name from the euro is no alternative. The new currency is the relationship: to farmers, to neighbours, to everyone who makes a secure life possible. Security grows from these relationships – first of all for food, because hunger comes every day.
Money like the euro and many other exchange systems are technical solutions. They come from a mechanical worldview that has worn out people and the world. Replacing this worldview is the heart of the matter: by using the momentum of our time and empowering people to channel their energy so that the patriarchal system can be replaced.
For everyone who wants to move something: teachers and researchers, activists, people with innovations, communities and farms. The workshop can be used anywhere.
