🔭 How it will be: Decided for TEIKEI Agora 2.0. This is not yet implemented in the Agora; until then, the prices you see in the Agora apply.
In short: Those who contribute to the basic costs pay only the actual costs for their harvest shares: farm and packing house, transport, delivery, local organization, payment fees, and VAT. What TEIKEI and operating the Agora need is jointly covered through the basic cost contributions. Every box openly shows where its price goes. This means there are no more hidden costs.
How to read the image: The pie chart shows the entire standard price of an 8-kg orange box: €24.13 according to the price table from October 2026. This is an example calculation; other boxes have different amounts.
Solid sections are actual costs. Farm and packing house €9.52, international transport €4.51, national delivery €4.56, organizers €0.48, payment fees €1.28, and VAT €1.42. Together, these make up €21.77: the actual cost price.
Hatched sections are basic costs. Operation of TEIKEI Agora €0.95, network support and further development €0.67, fund for farms and prices €0.48, and fees and VAT thereon €0.26. Together, these amount to €2.36 per box.
With basic cost contribution, you pay the actual cost price for the box. The basic costs are no longer covered through each box but through your contribution, together with everyone else.
Without basic cost contribution, you pay the standard price, which includes the basic costs.
FairShare rate (box below): FairShare rate = Final price ÷ Share for cultivation and production. For this box, it is 2.53 at the standard price and 2.29 at the actual cost price, calculated based on farm and packing house together (€9.52) because the price table does not yet separately list the pure farm share. It shows how much of the price actually goes to cultivation and production on the farm; the goal for Europe-regional supply is 2.0. "Farm and packing house" in the pie chart is more than this share because it also includes packing and packaging. More on this: FairShare, FairShare rate, and FairShare calculation.
39.5% of the standard price goes to the farm and packing house; with basic cost contribution, this becomes 43.7% of what you pay for the box.
37.6% covers the journey from the collection warehouse to your pickup location.
2.0% goes to the local organizer.
The basic costs of TEIKEI and operations make up 9.8% of the standard price. With basic cost contribution, they are no longer included in the price but are openly and visibly covered through the contribution.
Everyone who participates contributes to the basic costs. This was previously called membership (Basic Cost Contribution).
This means they pay only the actual cost price for harvest shares: what the farm, packing house, transport, delivery, local organization, payment service, and tax office receive.
Operations, network, further development, and funds are covered through basic cost contributions, not through the price of each individual box.
Those who do not contribute to the basic costs pay the standard price. This includes a proportional share of the basic costs.
Every box openly shows where its price goes. There are no hidden markups.
Prices according to the fruit box price table, as of October 2026, for harvest shares in Germany. They change depending on the harvest and month; the current prices are shown in the Agora. There, they are rounded up to the nearest 10 cents.
The basic costs of a season are openly compiled: what operating the Agora, coordination, software, network support, and funds for farms and prices require. This total is distributed among all who contribute to the basic costs. The more people participate, the smaller the share for everyone. The contribution levels are listed in the Agora; more on this under Basic Cost Contribution.
¶ How It Could Develop: Even More Shared Responsibility
The basic cost contribution doesn’t have to stop at basic costs. If everyone jointly covers transport as well, each box only pays for what the farm, packing house, and local organization need. The share for farm and packing house increases, and the FairShare rate drops significantly below the target of 2.0.
